Lighting Design & Layout Service
Excellence in lighting may be achieved by good engineering practice and we can help you achieve this. Craft Metal Products, Inc. has been successfully lighting hundreds of Churches, Libraries, Hotels, Restaurants and other public buildings each year for more than 60 years. This design and layout service is offered to Architects, Engineers, Designers and Building Owners.
📋 To help us create a good lighting solution, please provide the following:
- Building Information: Please show room dimensions (length, width, & ceiling height), structural beam spacing, and any existing lighting fixture spacing. We prefer drawings in CAD formats (.dxf, .dwg or .rvt) if available or copies (not from a camera phone) of building plans emailed to sales@craftmetal.com.
- Interior Photos taken from the entry looking toward the platform and the opposite direction. These should be taken wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Please also show directional lighting, structure details and any obstructions like beams or columns.
- Special Features: Dimensions of balconies and height of the balcony floor above the main floor, stage or platform dimensions and heights and dimensions of transepts or other areas.
- Design Preferences: Please indicate fixture styles, finishes, or reference images — or let us suggest options.
📁 What is a Revit file and what is a BIM file?
Revit files (.rvt) are 3D digital building models created in Autodesk Revit, a powerful computer aided design software program used by architects and engineers. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is 3D building modeling software used by architects, engineers to show all of the building details on their plans. Submitting a Revit file allows us to work directly with your 3D model, saving time and ensuring greater accuracy in lighting placement and design.
Revit files can include:
- Complete 3D models of your building layout
- Architectural, structural, and MEP information
- Detailed floor plans, elevations, and sections
- Lighting elements, fixture families, and annotations
If you have a Revit model of your space, including it with your submission can significantly improve coordination and design quality.
